Since 2000, Dexels has built systems used across national sports, live events in three continents, connected physical environments and care at home. Four engagements show what that means in practice.
One platform connecting federations, clubs and athletes.
A national sport is run by federations, thousands of clubs, volunteers and officials who all need the same registration, competition and results data on the same day.

- The platform has evolved continuously since its first live release in 2003.
Federation rules and competition formats set what the platform must enforce. One central membership and competition platform holds that, and serves clubs and teams, officials, and finance and venues. Mobile apps, match forms and public services sit on top of the same records.
- What Dexels built
- Dexels helped design and build the foundations of Sportlink, an enterprise platform for organising sport at national scale. Membership administration, competitions, fixtures, officials, results, finance, club operations and mobile applications sit on one platform. Different sports use the same platform while keeping their own rules, processes and integrations.
- What made it difficult
- A long-lived platform with dense business rules, many user roles, numerous integrations and daily operational dependencies.
- Dexels expertise
- Enterprise architecture, service-oriented systems, databases, integration, mobile applications, optimisation algorithms and long-term platform engineering.
One event platform, deployed across three continents.
A large public event has to take payments and identify visitors from the moment the gates open, with no maintenance window and no second attempt.
- In operation
- Recurring deployments in Australia, Ireland and the United States.
A visitor wallet, QR code or RFID credential is read at gates, point of sale and by mobile operators. Those services keep working when the network drops, then settle into payments, identity, reporting and reconciliation. Central event operations closes the loop each day.
- What Dexels built
- Sendrato, which is engineered and operated by Dexels, supplies cashless payments, point of sale, RFID-based visitor identification and access control. The platform ran at the Sydney Royal Easter Show from 2022 to 2024, at major stadium and outdoor concerts in Ireland at venues including Croke Park, the Aviva Stadium and Malahide Castle, and at the Maui County Fair in 2024, 2025 and 2026. Evntz is the visitor-facing side of the same platform, an iOS and Android application for tickets, buses and parking, accommodation, event information and merchandise.
- What made it difficult
- Live events cannot be paused while a technical problem is investigated. Each territory brings different payment rails, connectivity conditions, regulations and operating teams, and the same platform has to serve all of them under peak load.

- Payments integration, distributed systems, offline resilience, mobile applications, event operations, RFID and real-time data.
Active and passive RFID at Tomorrowland.
Each wristband's identity and activity had to remain synchronised with the central platform in a dense festival environment.
Active and passive wristbands are read two ways: active bands over a radio network, passive bands at RFID readers. Both feed one identity, movement and event platform, which is what operations and later analysis work from.
- What Dexels built
- Dexels and Sendrato applied active and passive RFID technology at Tomorrowland. The system connected physical wristbands with central applications for identification, tracking and event operations.
- What made it difficult
- A very large device population, dense radio environments, fixed operational deadlines, and the need to connect physical visitor behaviour with central platform data.

- RFID, wireless systems, device communication, distributed services, data processing and operational monitoring.
A privacy-aware health hub on the wrist.
Care at home depends on knowing how someone is, without putting a camera in their living room or asking them to operate complicated equipment.
- In operation
- The technology builds on MONICA, a Horizon 2020 project on networked Internet of Things wearables demonstrated at large open-air events in six European cities. Awareable is co-funded by the European Union and the Kansen voor West programme, with SoStark and the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences as partners.
Internal and external Bluetooth Low Energy sensors report to the wearable. A phone or local gateway relays the readings, encrypted, to the health platform. The platform raises alerts and serves the mobile application and the desktop dashboard used by families, carers and clinicians.
- What Dexels built
- Awareable is a wearable data hub built by the Dexels and Sendrato engineering team. It integrates internal and external Bluetooth Low Energy sensors, covering heart rate, ECG, blood pressure, oxygen saturation and body weight, and adds fall detection, indoor and outdoor location and geofencing. Readings are sent in real time to a central server or a local gateway, and reach patients, families and professional carers through a mobile application and a desktop dashboard. Health data is protected with layered symmetric and asymmetric encryption, and the person wearing the device stays in control of it.
- What made it difficult
- Continuous measurement, alerting and location have to work on a small battery, in homes with unreliable connectivity, for users who should never have to configure anything, and under health data protection rules.
- Dexels expertise
- Wearable and sensor engineering, Bluetooth Low Energy, indoor and outdoor positioning, real-time data transfer, encryption and health data protection, mobile applications and monitoring dashboards.

These systems required reliable data, controlled access, integration, monitoring and clear operational responsibility. Enterprise AI needs the same foundations.
